#100HappyDays..What is it all about?

I am sure by now many of you have come across the hash tag " #100HappyDays " on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. So what is it? The general idea is for you to take one picture a day of something that makes you happy and post it to your social media of choice for 100 days in a row.

  When you go to the 100 Happy Days website there are no clues to the origination of the project. I had to do a little digging and found this interview with Dmitry Golubnichy, the creator of the project. In a nutshell he started a mission in his own life to find more happiness and then decided to challenge the rest of us. Pretty cool, huh?

 Joining the project is simple. You just head over to the website, fill out a little pledge box and go.

The shocking part is the calculation that 71% of people fail this challenge. I admit, I was shocked by this number. Snapping a photo and posting doesn't take that long and even if you use Instagram it requires no more than a few extra seconds while you choose a filter.  Can it really be that stopping to find one thing in your day that makes you happy is that hard?  Are we intimidated by that? I really don't know the answer. I feel that the real issue isn't time, as many state, but that we don't feel the need to make time in our life for Happy. We are always busy trying to get something, earn something, or find something to get to the happy that we forget to stop and just be happy.

I began the project 20 days ago and am enjoying it very much. It's kind of interesting going through your day and suddenly thinking, "There. That moment right there is my happy thought."

Let the Battle of the Story Begin...

So if any of you read yesterday's post then you know that I was having trouble finishing a story. And many of you awesome peeps out there gave me great ideas.

Then Prince Charming came home, read the blog, and started to give his opinion. Then he decided that he like his idea way to much to give to me, so he threw down the gauntlet. We are officially having a Bloggy Story Battle!! And you, my dearest readers..friends...fans..(ok, I promised not to pull any voting 'strings' but a little buttering up never hurt ;-P)..will be the judges :-D

Ever Wednesday over the next 5 weeks, I will post the next page in my story. And every Thursday Prince Charming will post his next page in his version of the story. All based from the beginning I posted yesterday. Anyone confused? Please raise your hand. LOL.

After the 5 pages to both stories are posted, we will open voting for one week and let you decide who wrote the better story. Are you excited? Please be excited. I most certainly am!

Wanted: Creative Juices

The past few weeks I've been on a 'creative juice' roll. I would go to post or do some other project and the ideas and plans just sprung up with no problem. Suddenly in the middle of last week that seemed to come to a screeching halt.

I'm not sure if my brain just overloaded in general or if it just shut down due to all the stuff going on around here, but I want it back. I need it back.

I have decided to start college this fall and am also looking to pursue my dreams of writing. Both of these goals require creativity, obviously.

So I want to ask for your help! I want you to post an idea, topic, or a few lines of dialog or story, that you'd like to see me write about. On Friday I will pick one (or you can tell me which is your favorite of the suggested) and on Monday I will post about it :)

Be as creative, funny, serious or whatever that you can! The more unique and interesting the more fun this will be :-D
