#100HappyDays..What is it all about?

I am sure by now many of you have come across the hash tag " #100HappyDays " on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. So what is it? The general idea is for you to take one picture a day of something that makes you happy and post it to your social media of choice for 100 days in a row.

When you go to the 100 Happy Days website there are no clues to the origination of the project. I had to do a little digging and found this interview with Dmitry Golubnichy, the creator of the project. In a nutshell he started a mission in his own life to find more happiness and then decided to challenge the rest of us. Pretty cool, huh?

Joining the project is simple. You just head over to the website, fill out a little pledge box and go.

The shocking part is the calculation that 71% of people fail this challenge. I admit, I was shocked by this number. Snapping a photo and posting doesn't take that long and even if you use Instagram it requires no more than a few extra seconds while you choose a filter.  Can it really be that stopping to find one thing in your day that makes you happy is that hard?  Are we intimidated by that? I really don't know the answer. I feel that the real issue isn't time, as many state, but that we don't feel the need to make time in our life for Happy. We are always busy trying to get something, earn something, or find something to get to the happy that we forget to stop and just be happy.

I began the project 20 days ago and am enjoying it very much. It's kind of interesting going through your day and suddenly thinking, "There. That moment right there is my happy thought."

Have you Taken or will you take the challenge?

What's your Happy?

I'm falling in love....

I have Google Reader for the 50 or so blogs I read daily and I love it. I have a Google Reader app for my phone so I can stay in touch while on the go. But yesterday while searching extensions for Google Chrome (My preferred browser) I ran across Feedly, a magazine style feed reader. It uses your existing reader account (in my case google) and then allows you to sort by category & create your own categories and is available for many different browsers. Plus, it allows you to choose topics that interest you and add/delete those from your 'Cover' allowing you to discover new blogs. This feature allowed me to find This adorable DIY project. So I'm quickly falling in love with it. Give it a try and let me know what you think :-)

Prince Caspian
The next movie from C.S. Lewis's
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe series

If you were watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, one of the movie previews may have excited you as much as it did me!

The trailer for Prince Caspian Disney's sequel movie to The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, based on the Chronicles of Narnia book series by C.S. Lewis (one of my childhood favorites) was debuted. The movie is set to be released on May 16, 2008!!

In case you missed it, here is the preview:

If you only make one thing this weekend...

My darling sis sent me this shepherd's pie recipe with instructions that I must try it. Well, it was delicious! I loved ever single bite and I'm sure the kids would have too if I had shared instead of eating it all myself. I used leftover mashed taters and gravy from the night before and it turned out A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. And Pokey was right, it was super quick and so easy.

So as I was surfing the site for other quick and easy recipes I came across the recipe for Bacon Cheeseburger Rollups.

OMG. OMG. OMG.

Let me just tell you, this is one of the most yummy things I have ever tasted in my entire life. Liberty thought I was a goddess after trying this. So, I am sharing the recipe here for you because you must try this. And then you must come back here and tell me how amazing I am :-D

Ingredients:

* 1 lb. lean ground beef
* 4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, chopped
* 1/2 cup chopped onions (about 1 small)
* 1/2 lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
* 1 pkg. (13.8 oz.) refrigerated pizza crust

  • PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Cook ground beef, bacon and onions in large skillet on medium-high heat until ground beef is evenly browned, stirring occasionally. Drain; return meat mixture to skillet. *Add VELVEETA; cook until completely melted, stirring frequently. Cool 10 min.
  • UNROLL pizza dough onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Press into 15x8-inch rectangle. Top evenly with meat mixture. Roll up dough, starting at one of the long sides. Rearrange, if necessary, so roll is seam-side down on baking sheet.
  • BAKE 20 to 25 min. or until golden brown. Cut diagonally into six slices to serve.
* I don't care for Velveta cheese so I used shredded Colby Jack cheese and spread it over the meat mixture after placing meat on the dough.

Seriously, this will be on my super bowl menu and everyone will love you for doing the same!
